3 Acres of Family-Friendly Berry Picking
Berry availability can change daily, especially as fields are picked and ripen at different times.
Our fields offer a variety of blueberries across 3 acres of well-maintained bushes, giving you plenty of space to spread out and pick at your own pace.
Blackberries are also available later in the season, offering a richer, slightly tart flavor perfect for baking and fresh eating.
Berries are not only delicious straight off the bush, but also perfect for:
Pick the blue ones large and small those with a blush of pink will continue to ripen.
The green, ones will ripen in a couple of days, please leave them on the bush.
Look down into the bush not just on the top. There are lots of berries on each bush, even down towards the bottom (great for the little ones to pick).
Pick the black ones large and small (too much red and they will be very tart).
They should come off the bush easily with just a little bit of resistance. Be sure to look into the bush for the ones hiding behind the leaves.
Have fun picking & enjoy the peaceful country ambiance of our farm.
Wait to wash the berries until you’re ready to eat them. Wash what you plan on eating leaving the rest dry in the fridge (Keeping washed berries in the fridge can cause mold growth).
Put unwashed berries on rimmed baking trays (so they don’t stick together). Place trays in the freezer until completely frozen.
Have freezer bags ready, then bag the berries, putting them back in the freezer as soon as possible, that way they won’t stick together, making it easy to pour out what you need, putting the rest back in the freezer until you need more or another recipe.
Note: this works for Blackberries too.
Gro-Moore Farms has been proudly family-owned and operated in the Henrietta and Rush, New York area since 1917. Jack and his brother George represent the third generation of Moore family farmers, continuing a tradition built on hard work, fresh berries, and welcoming families back year after year.
Jack, Kathy, and their son, Joe, manage our pick-your-own blueberry fields, helping families create summer memories while enjoying fresh-picked berries straight from the field. Jack handles much of the farm work his father once did, while Kathy keeps visitors updated through the website and seasonal newsletters, sharing when blueberry season begins and what’s happening around the farm.
With four children and ten grandchildren, family has always been at the heart of what we do. We are grateful for the support of every customer who visits and helps keep this family tradition growing for the next generation.
Warmly,
The Moore Family
